Madeline

she/her

Madeline has grown up around exotics her whole life, from herping for snakes as a kid, to caring for her pet rats and ball python in high school, to pursuing herpetological research in college. She has researched exotic animal husbandry extensively, resulting in a diverse knowledge base of animal care standards. At the University of Texas at Austin, she has contributed to scientific research projects on almost every taxon of herpetofauna: turtles, frogs, snakes, salamanders, and lizards, including weeks of intensive hands-on fieldwork with wild reptiles and amphibians.

Madeline also has two rescue cats, Tibothy and Cherry. She is the Director of TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) for a local cat volunteer organization, and has helped over 25 feral cats receive medical care and/or find homes. She has also accumulated over 200 volunteer hours fostering dogs with various medical and behavioral needs. Madeline has experience working as a veterinary assistant, which adds to her unique skill set.

Madeline has a lifelong passion for animal care and can’t wait to meet your pets!

Alex

she/her

Pets have always been Alex's passion. She has been keeping exotic pets - including lizards, snakes, crabs, fish, arachnids, insects, turtles, and amphibians - since she was 10 years old! Her goal in life is to create a life around exotic pets, which is exactly why she started Austin Exotics Care Company.

Alex has worked professionally with animals for over 4 years. Her first job was at a chain pet store in both the doggy daycare and as a pet care specialist. During college, while studying Ecology, Evolution, and Animal Behavior, she worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in a lab that studied the toxin sequestration of poison dart frogs. She has also worked as a dog groomer!
